Day 61 – Vancouver International Salsafest - March 3rd – 6th, 2011
Starting tonight at 8pm (and running until 4am… yowzers) at the Sheraton Wall Centre Salsafest hits Vancouver. Running until Sunday the event is not a competition but rather a festival of salsa classes, performances and themed parties.
The event is sure to bring out people of all ages and all skill levels. Tickets run from $10 - $70 depending on what you are getting yourself in to. for full info check out the Salsefest site here.
Highlights include:
. A beginners' salsa boot camp where the goal is to get participants to learn the dance in one day.
. Workshops all day Saturday and Sunday.
. Teachers who include the Cobo Brothers from North Carolina and performers such as Salsamania, the ESPN World Salsa Championship finalists from San Francisco, and David and Pauline, the current Canadian salsa champions from Mexico.
. Casino Royale, a James-Bond themed gala on Saturday, nightly parties and performances, and a 12-piece Latin band.
Salsa is one sexy dance! get out there and check out the dancing and monumental people watching. You might catch me pulling something like this...
