Day 19 – Go For Some Authentic Mexican Food in Vancouver at Chronic Taco…
I would like to thank Groupon for introducing me to yet another great spot in Vancouver. A few weeks ago Groupon was running a coupon… $6 for $12 of food/drink at Chronic Taco (on Broadway near Yukon)… This place is awesome!
The guy behind the counter could not have been friendlier, I told him to make what he would have for himself. I had a burrito that was stuffed with pulled pork, rice, beans, cilantro, salsa verde, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and I’m sure I’m leaving something out. This thing was big, I could have thrown it through the front window if I didn’t like it, fortunately it was uber good and I didn’t have to throw it anywhere. I washed it down with a bottle of Pacifico. Groupon not included it was $12 for food and beer.
The food was very authentic Mexican style and the atmosphere was sweet. I think there were about 8 flat screen TV’s, some great both seating, a countdown clock showing the next Canucks game, and daily drink specials (I think Thursdays was a can of beer and a shot of Sauza for $7… possibly the best drink special I have ever seen). I already knew I would be coming back to this place, and then came a bonus. Before I left I had to use the restroom, in the urinal there was a mini soccer net with suspended soccer ball which you peed on to score… needless to say quite entertaining.
