Day 18 – Catch a Vancouver Hockey Game That Doesn’t Come With a ‘Giant’ Price Tag.
As of today the Vancouver Canucks remain #1 in the NHL - which is AWESOME! Even if they did get whopped by the Wild in their last game, I’m sure they will beat the Avalanche tonight (which starts in 20 minutes here so I will be brief), and make us proud this year in the playoffs!
Going to a Canucks game is great for the atmosphere and crowd etc, but it is a major workout on the wallet. After buying tickets (that are real according to the sketchy guy from Surrey on craigslist), parking, food, overpriced/undersized draught beer that will give you the worst headache you have ever had you are looking at $300 plus to get a couple people through the night.
The Vancouver Giants are #1 in the BC Conference in the WHL and always go unnoticed. These guys play just as hard if not harder than the boys in the NHL… they want to make the NHL so they can make the big chedda’, and not have to work so hard every night.
I just did a search for the upcoming game on Sunday… Centre Ice… 6th Row… $24… crazy cheap. Sure the facility is the Canucks hand me down, and half the players have horrible acne – the games themselves are sweet, get out there and support them!
