The rain has been coming down sporadically the past few weeks now. Of course, this is Vancouver and rain is what Vancouver does best, but I still can’t help staring out the window, longingly, aching for the days I can run outside barefoot & shirtless like the hippy I never was.
The monsoon season still has a few months of life left. Change it up this week & go where the rain is meant to be felt – the rainforest.
Coming from Alberta, where 8 ft tall spruce trees & sloppy muskeg cover most of the province, I have a great admiration for the stately firs & cedars on this side of the country. When it’s deathly looking outside, zip out to Stanley Park & walk amongst the giants. Doing so really takes away from my deep-seeded hatred of the rain. For, without it, these wooden titans wouldn’t exist!
