Tonight, the Orpheum Theatre ignites the spirit of the “High Priestess of Soul” – highly versatile, wonderfully talented, Nina Simone.  Spirit is the key word here.  Nina Simone passed away nearly 8 years ago so the low growling harmonies & quivering voice of music’s finest is now channeled through her legacy: daughter, singer/songwriter, Simone. 

Of course, there’s no substitute for the original, but hearing classics like Feelin’ Good, Sugar In My Bowl, I Put A Spell On You, backed by the VSO is certain to brighten the doomsday weather outside...
