Day 115 – Last Chance to see the Biennale Outdoor Art Before it’s Gone…
The Vancouver Biennale is a public art exhibition of contemporary art that has been placed around our Beautiful City. I’m sure most of you have seen the ‘laughing guys’ at Denman and Davie, those 'red meditating guys' in Coal Harbour Quay, or my personal favourite the 'giant hollow head' at Nelson and Mainland – Creepy… but did you know there is a total of 40 pieces around the city! You can find a map and a brief description of the pieces here. For a more detailed description of the works check out this page here.
At the Chan centre on April 30th they will be holding a wrap up gala for the Biennale and the sculptures will be auctioned off! There have been some peaceful protests as many people want these temporary art pieces to become permanent. If you wanted to attend this gala you can find more info here
Kinda of sad to see this art go…
