Day 16 – 3D is for kids… Check out a 4D flick at The Vancouver Aquarium
The Vancouver Aquarium opened the doors to the first 4D movie experience in Western Canada this past summer. A 4D movie includes all of the standard 3D imagery and big sound, but it adds an additional sensory surprise here and there…. It could be wind, mist, scents, or some serious lighting effects.
The films are included with your general admission to the aquarium and run about 20 minutes. The first film the aquarium was running was Planet Earths ‘Shallow Seas’. Cruise around with the sea life and be prepared to get a shot of water here and there. Over Christmas the Aquarium was featuring ‘The Polar Express’, where the whole theatre gets rocked when the train rolls by. I am pretty sure the Aquarium has flipped back to the ‘Shallow Seas” feature now, but will be introducing something new soon.
The more dimensions the better!
